Sour Cream Pound Cake

In just four more days Christmas morning will be here. Santa will have visted, our cookies will be consumed and we will be reflecting on the birth of our Saviour.

If you're like me you have about 1,000 things left on your epic to do list. I've gotten to where I can't even look at it.

I decided to take a little time out to share a perfect Christmas baking idea. Sour cream pound cake. It's easy, it requires simple ingredients and it's the perfect, sturdy cake to share with friends.

Like a perfect pound cake it is crusty, with a layer of creamy cake underneath.

What you'll need:

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour or cake flour

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 stick melted butter

1/2 cup sour cream

3 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 375 and grease a loaf, muffin or bundt pan.

In a bowl combine your flour and sugar.

Stir in your butter. Beat eggs and add them as well. Add in your vanilla. (If you're like me you will use WAY more than a tsp.) Your batter will be the most beautiful yellow color.

Fold in your sour cream.

Pour in your pan and bake for one hour. (30 minutes for muffin.)

Enjoy your delicous pound cake with a cup of hot chocolate while you watch "White Christmas."
